FAQs
What Is a Certified Aquascape Pond Contractor?
Certified Aquascape Contractors (CACs) are the most qualified and informed water feature installers in the industry. Since 2001, CACs have been trained and educated by Aquascape experts to install beautiful low-maintenance water features, offer quality workmanship, and provide outstanding customer service. CACs use their experience to give knowledgeable assistance to their customers. Mike Herrmann, Colorado Pond Pros owner and president, has achieved the distinction of Master Certified Aquascape Contractor, the highest tier in the CAC program.
How do I choose a pond contractor?
As with any major project, you should do your homework before choosing a pond contractor to work with. To start, be sure to request and thoroughly assess references. Next, make sure you and your potential contractor are clear on the project’s scope and the contractor’s responsibilities. Lastly, consider your “gut feelings” about the contractor, as well as cost estimates vs reviews.
Does a pond add property value?
Yes. Land with a pond will typically sell for between 5 to 15 percent more on average than land without a pond. For many of our clients, the value of their pond is not strictly monetary; it’s an increase in the quality of their day-to-day life.
Does a pond affect homeowner’s insurance?
Typically, insurance policies will provide coverage for items like ponds, up to a specific percentage of your home’s value. This coverage is usually outlined in the “other structures” section of your policy. Ensure that you have adequate coverage for any additional structures you may own, such as a building or barn, as well as for your pond.
How long do pond liners last?
Depending on the material chosen, pond liners are very durable and can last 30 to 40 years. We recommend liner materials based on their puncture resistance.
